It was VERY nice out tonight and
actually reached a record high
earlier in the day. I decided to
make a night of it and set out for
some very long exposures.

Back to the ol' tree. Some high
cirrus clouds come floating in
leaving some thin streaks in
front of the moon.

A little long exposure this time
which allowed the tree to pick
up more light from the street
lamp way off to the left.

My first LOOONG exposure
of the night. This one was right
around 42 minutes when I came
back outside and realized my
neighbor had turned on his outside
light which really allowed WAY
too much light into the shot. I still
sort of like the way it turned out.
I learned where the North Star
was after I took this shot.

I saw this shot to my left as I
was waiting for the last shot.
It sort of reminded me of a
good Halloween picture with
the leafless trees and eerie
feel to the scene.

I allowed the moon to barely
peer around the tree to allow
a little more light in but not totally
blow it out at the same time.

I managed to capture the
North Star in the bottom right
of the shot, but after viewing
full screen on the computer
after I went inside, I noticed that
the picture had taken on a TON of
long exposure noise. I soon found
out that I can actually correct
this directly in my camera. This
was a 36 minute exposure.

Another little line of clouds moved
in from the southwest and I
wanted something a little different
to break up the extra long shots.

Before this last one, I tried
two different hour long exposures
which didn't turn out at all. I was
pretty disappointed so I grabbed
one last moon shot and called
it a night.
