More of the same. It's awesome watching all of this happen as it does,
but when I go to make a website entry, they all start to get a bit
redundant. There is only so much narrating I can do for different
eagles grabbing different dead fish. That's why I need something
different.
An adult lands with a meal....under a tree FULL of eagles. Not a wise
move, buddy.
The adult was scared off in seconds by this gang of juveniles. That one
on the far right ends up with it, but only temporarily. He was
eventually chased off as well.
One of the trees I was mentioning earlier. This was typical. The most I
saw in that tree was probably double what is in that shot.
This guy didn't mind me being there. He must have been conserving
energy or something because he was there for quite a while.
Facing toward the sun. This creates some incredibly harsh lighting.
It's almost impossible to expose a photo correctly.
This guy came in pretty close overhead. A little before this an eagle
came cruising in over everyone's heads about 10 feet above. Nobody even
paid attention to him. I joked around with a guy next to me (with a
bazooka for a lens I might add) that you know it's a good day when
people don't even attempt to put a lens on something that close. All
the action was still out on the water.
Dam in the background.
I haven't been making it out much
lately other than the pics I posted on here. Actually, the last set was
back on the 3rd and I haven't been back out since (today is the 10th).
I won't be able to make it out next weekend either so this may just be
the peak of the season for me. I can't complain though, there were some
good outings there. I need a longer lens. Either that or a faster 400mm
lens. I wish they made the 100-400 in a f/2.8. I guess then it'd be
about 10x as much as what I paid for it.
