Today just boiled down to desperation...to see ANYTHING. This wasn't a chase day, although some of these storms did go severe warned, including the one on this account. This account is actually out of desperation also. It's been extremely frustrating weather-wise since the May 10th tornado. Too many things to list.

I had about an hour window to head out and try to timelapse something. There were towers going up all over the place, but nothing really looked too special. After I cleared a row of trees hugging the south side of the road heading eastbound, I saw the big tower going up to the south. That's about it! The rest sort of explains itself.

Looking straight south from Colona.

Video grab.

Hail streaks starting to fall out of the north side up there.

Nice fully matured storm now. This storm would apparently go on to drop large nail near Galva, IL later on.

Here is the timelapse. I was really worried this wasn't going to turn out. I lucked out big time. I had shot a timelapse the night before with some nighttime lightning and put it on manual focus toward the end. I remembered backing it out quite a bit. I got about 25 minutes into this time lapse and realized it was still on manual focus. Luckily I apparently shifted the focus back to where it was before I ended the timelapse the night before. That would not have made me happy.
